THE RESTAURANT .Opened in April 2014 as a European fine dining restaurant under the business management of the freehold owner. Even then with the possibly misleading name of “The English Garden Restaurant”, this business was an immediate success. Initially and only by word of mouth recommendation (our business cards were not ready nor was our website up and running), we were busy every night of the week with the clientele being mainly residents and the residents being of all nationalities.
Four years of most evenings fully booked throughout the year (closed November/early December for 6 weeks) put our restaurant in the top 3 of Mijas Costa. Even Tripadvisor, where many restaurants self opinionate for high rankings, had the The English Garden Restaurant at No.5.
The restaurant was opened six evenings a week throughout the year and Sunday Lunch during the winter months of December to May.
The year round staff was a Chef, a sous chef and an assistant in the kitchen with a front of house and a waiter on the floor.
Due to the Government legislation to fight the Coronavirus, the restaurant, as with all others in Spain, was closed on the 12th March 2020. The restaurant has remained closed and a new lease of 15 years is now offered by the freehold owner to new tenants with proven experience in the hospitality industry.
The restaurant is ready to reopen, it needs the new owners personal touches, their restaurant theme and their expertise.

Niether The Bar nor the Restaurant have living accommodation but there is a good choice of rental accommodation close at hand with two bedrooms and community gardens and pool from as little as 500 € per month for a long let.
Both the businesses are double fronted and lead directly onto the Main boulevard, Urbanisation Sitio de Calahonda. This urbanisation is one of the largest on the Coast and is heavily populated the year round . The residencial population is mainly Spanish, British and Scandinavian whilst the tourists are mainly from Europe, Scandanavia and the British Isles.
The restaurant is double fronted on the main walkway down to the beach which is approximately 650 metres away.
Fully licensed in accordance with all 2021 rules and regulations. The Restaurant has 145 square meters all at ground level. However a lunch time clientele could be built up with little additional staff and even a breakfast trade as only 1 other food outlet in the area is open before midday.
The Bar has mainly been open as a late night venue ( special licence allows opening till 3am during the week and 4am atbweekends ) but has a vast potential for business during the daytime hours
As a restaurant with a European/Mediterranean menu it has little competition but benefits from clientele initially drawn by the surrounding Indian, Chinese, Italian and Spanish restaurants and bars. A recent study carried out by the freehold owner indicates that the original concept that was immediately very successfull (fine dining) could be altered to include smaller portions (Tapas) on the menu but still keep the quality and variety.
The Bar with its special licence and soundproofing has no compitition.

The Restaurant license allows opening from 8am till 2 am.
Past trading has only been 6:00 pm till 1:00 am Tuesday to Sunday with a 1:30pm to 4:30pm service on Sundays from December to May.
