Turnkey Boat Charter Business With Vessel, Costa Blanca For Sale

Altea, Alicante, Spain
Asking Price:
€65,000 Furniture / Fixtures included
Turnover:
Under €100K
Net Profit:
Under €50K

Established boat charter business on the Costa Blanca, offered as a complete turnkey operation. The vessel, the brand, the booking website, the charter platform accounts and a trained member of staff are all included, so the new owner can step straight into the next season without interruption.

The business has been trading for three seasons, having started in 2023.

The vessel is a Beneteau Flyer 6 SUNdeck, fully equipped for day charter with bimini top, cabin, freshwater shower, sun decks, bathing platform, fridge, stereo system, USB charging and snorkelling equipment.

A key commercial advantage is the length of the boat: under six metres. In Spain this places it in the class that can be hired by holders of the entry level Licencia de Navegacion, a permit that can be obtained in a couple of days. Vessels of seven metres and above require a full skipper qualification, so this boat can be rented to a considerably wider pool of customers.

Charters are offered bareboat to customers who hold a licence, or with a skipper for those who do not. Fishing trips are also run, and wakeboard and jet ski hire provide additional income.

The business operates from Altea, one of the most attractive marina towns on the Costa Blanca, within easy reach of Benidorm, Calpe and Albir, with tourist demand throughout the year. Charter rates range from 250 to 490 euros per day depending on the season, with half day slots also sold. Peak season runs from late June to early September.

Demand arrives through several independent channels. The boat holds established listings on Click&Boat and SamBoat, two of the largest charter marketplaces in Europe, with trading history and customer records on both. Alongside these, the business maintains its own direct customer base on WhatsApp for repeat bookings, which carries no platform commission and does not depend on paid advertising.

Included in the sale: the vessel and its full inventory, the booking website in five languages (Spanish, English, French, Ukrainian and Russian) with online reservations, the Click&Boat and SamBoat accounts with their trading history, the direct customer base, and a trained employee who can be retained on a salary or on a commission basis at the buyer's discretion.

The five language website is a genuine differentiator. Most operators in the area market in Spanish and English only, while this business also reaches French and Russian speaking visitors.

Detailed income and expense records have been kept since the business started and will be made available to serious buyers. Viewings by arrangement.

Property Information

Location:

The business operates from a berth in the marina at Altea, on the northern Costa Blanca, between Benidorm and Calpe. Albir, Altea Hills and Moraira are all within a short drive, and Alicante airport is roughly 60 km away.

This stretch of coast is among the most scenic in the region. The Sierra Helada cliffs, the Isla de Benidorm and a series of sheltered coves all lie within easy cruising range of the port, which is what makes the four hour and full day charters work well from this base. Tourist demand runs through the year, with a strong peak from late June to early September.

Premises Details:

No shop or office premises are required. The business works from a rented berth in the marina; details of the berth arrangement are available on request.

Bookings are taken online through the company website, through the Click&Boat and SamBoat platforms, and directly by phone and WhatsApp, so the administrative side of the business can be run remotely.

Business Operation

Management type:
This business has absentee ownership.
Expansion Potential:

There are several clear routes to growth, and none of them require starting from scratch.

A second vessel is the most direct. The website, the platform accounts, the booking process and the trained member of staff are already in place, so a second boat would add revenue without doubling the fixed overhead.

Reducing platform dependency. Bookings taken through the large charter marketplaces carry a commission of roughly forty per cent, while bookings through the company's own website, Telegram and WhatsApp channels carry none. Direct channels already produce the large majority of revenue; pushing that share higher raises margin with no increase in activity.

Extending the season. The shoulder months already trade and the boat is largely idle through the winter. Marketing aimed at residents rather than holidaymakers, and targeted promotion in October and November, would use capacity that is currently unsold.

Additional services on the same asset. Wakeboard and towable hire already contribute. Sunset and celebration packages, snorkelling trips and partnerships with local hotels are natural extensions, and one hotel referral relationship already appears in the accounts.

Wider language reach. The direct customer base has been built mainly through Russian and Ukrainian language channels. The same method applied to the British, German, Dutch and Scandinavian communities on the Costa Blanca is largely untapped.

Competition / Market:

Several charter operators work the same stretch of coast, mostly with vessels of seven metres and above. Those require the customer to hold a full skipper qualification, or to pay for a skipper on top of the hire. This boat is under six metres, which places it in the class that can be hired by holders of the entry level Licencia de Navegacion, a permit obtainable in a couple of days. That difference is the main competitive position of the business and the reason it reaches customers the larger boats cannot.

The second point of difference is language. Most operators in the port market in Spanish and English only. This business runs a website in five languages and has built a direct customer base through Russian and Ukrainian language channels, which brings bookings that local competitors do not reach.

The usual competitive pressures apply: weather-dependent demand, seasonality, and price competition from larger fleets during the peak weeks.

Reasons for selling:

The owner is relocating and will no longer be based on the Costa Blanca to run the business day to day. The business is trading normally and is offered as a going concern, not being wound down.

Trading hours:

Seven days a week through the season, which runs from April to October with the peak between late June and early September. Charters are sold as full days, typically 10:00 to 18:00, and as half days in morning and afternoon slots. Enquiries and bookings are handled year round and the boat continues to trade through the winter months at low season rates.

Other Information

Support & training:

A full handover is offered.

The existing member of staff knows the boat, the port, the routes and the customers, and can stay on either under salary or on the current commission arrangement. For a buyer who is new to the area, that removes most of the learning curve.

The owner currently takes a hands-on role, covering maintenance, cleaning and skippering personally, but none of that is tied to ownership. The employee is able to take on the day to day running, and the business can be operated either hands-on or entirely at arm's length, depending on what the buyer prefers.

The handover covers the website and its booking system, the Click&Boat and SamBoat accounts with their trading history and reviews, the direct customer base, the maintenance and supplier contacts in the port, and the income and expense records kept since the business started. Guidance on the licensing and registration requirements for operating a charter vessel in Spain can also be provided.

Owner financing:
Owner financing is available. Please contact the seller for more information.
Financing available:

The seller is open to discussing staged payment. Part of the price would be settled on completion and the balance paid in instalments over an agreed period, with the terms negotiated directly between buyer and seller.
